Febrile neutropenia (FEN) is the most common complication requiring hospitalization and causing mortality in patients with hematological cancer. The primary aim of the study was to investigate whether there is a relationship between the frequency of febrile neutropenic episodes (FNEs) and seasons in hematological cancer patients. In addition, neutrophil count, C-reactive protein (CRP) level, length of hospitalization, culture results of blood and other body specimens, isolated pathogens, detected foci of infection, and antibacterial, antiviral, or antifungal treatments were reviewed. The second aim of the study was to determine the type and frequency of pathogens detected in FNEs in patients with hematologic cancer. ./cache/cord-014933-3jezc081.txt ./txt/cord-014933-3jezc081.txt
