The purpose of our article is to collect, summarize and present epidemiological data related to migrants in Bulgaria and, on the basis of this information, to analyze the potential risks to public health (including risks to migrants) and to assess the capacity of Bulgaria's healthcare system to cope with the refugee crisis. Following the 2012-2013 crisis, in February 2015 a WHO assessment mission to Bulgaria took place to access the country's capacity to address the public health implications of sudden large-scale influxes of migrants [27] .
