After the August/September 2014 announcement by the WHO that Ebola was a 'public health emergency of international concern' and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) declaration that Ebola was a 'threat to international peace and security,' many countries as well as international organizations, non-governmental organizations, companies and individuals participated in the fight against this unprecedented challenge to humanity.
