The aim of this study is to compare the frequency and disease severity of influenza and RSV infections among children < 24 months hospitalized with respiratory symptoms during the peaks of five influenza seasons. In the province of Quebec, Canada, a prospective surveillance study with virologic assessment for influenza and other respiratory viruses was conducted during the peak weeks of influenza circulation among patients admitted for acute respiratory symptoms to four acute-care hospitals since 2012-2013.
