NPM officials said the malicious code was designed to target people using a bitcoin wallet developed by Copay, a company that incorporated event-stream into its app. After this post went live, Copay officials updated their comment to say they did, in fact, release platforms that contained the backdoor. It is also contacting copay-dash, another developer that uses the same open source code in its wallet app. Use of and/or registration on any portion of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement (updated 1/1/20) and Privacy Policy and Cookie Statement (updated 1/1/20) and Ars Technica Addendum (effective 8/21/2018). ./cache/arstechnica-com-5271.html ./txt/arstechnica-com-5271.txt
