Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center Archival Program Named in honor of one of America's most famous explorers, Admiral Richard E. Byrd, the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center of The Ohio State University is recognized internationally as a leader in polar and alpine research. The Center's research programs are conducted throughout the world. Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute The Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute serves as an archive for performers, playwrights, choreographers, designers, producing organizations, and theatre and dance companies, among others, and advances the study and inspiration of the performing arts. Music & Dance Library The Music & Dance Library supports the teaching, research, and performance areas of the OSU School of Music and the Department of Dance. In addition to a large circulating collection of books, scores and audiovisual media, the library houses several special collections including sheet music, facsimiles of music manuscripts, and sound recordings. Ohio Public Policy Archives The Ohio Public Policy Archives is a collaborative effort of The Ohio State University Libraries Special Collections and the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. Its mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to collections of historical documents relating to the function and history of policymaking in the federal branches of the U.S. government and informed by individuals and groups from the state of Ohio. Rare Books and Manuscripts Library The Rare Books and Manuscripts Library serves as a laboratory for the study of “the book” in all its forms and includes collections spanning 5000-years’ worth of literary and artistic production, from Babylonian cuneiform tablets and medieval manuscripts to modern literary archives, Avant poetry, and historical photographs. University Archives Since 1965, University Archives has served as the official memory of the Ohio State University. With more than 30,000 cubic feet of manuscripts materials and approximately 2 million images, University Archives provides researchers, students, and life-long learners access to original documents, photographs, and objects to create their own interpretation of Ohio State University history. Geology Library & Map Room This collection contains digitized items from Ohio State’s Geology Library and Map Room. These locations combined contain a majority of Ohio State’s over 4.5 million print maps holdings.
