We also asked the question if the differentially expressed genes between the oldest and youngest age groups encode proteins that interact with SARS-CoV-2 (see "Methods" section). Our analysis revealed eleven differentially expressed genes between the oldest and youngest age groups that encode proteins known to interact with SARS-CoV-2 (Fig. 3d) .
