To effectively address the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there is a recognized need for a framework for rapid identification of novel targets for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions as well as determine clinically approved drugs with high potential for repurposed use against SARS-CoV-2. In this study, we have applied this approach, and our findings have identified IFITM3 as an early upregulated gene and indicate that valproic acid enhances IFITM3 mRNA expression and antiviral action. Our toxicogenomic analysis showed that valproic acid increased the mRNA expression of IFITM3, supporting a new report that the SARS-CoV-2-human protein-protein interaction map showed that valproic acid might be a potential repurposing drug for COVID-19 (34) . ./cache/cord-280924-g6062fwk.txt ./txt/cord-280924-g6062fwk.txt
