We assessed daily volumes from February 1, 2020, through April 1, 2020; the defined date of "intervention" was March 11, 2020, when Massachusetts declared a COVID-19-related state of emergency. We describe a significant increase in e-consult utilization relative to traditional ambulatory referrals following the COVID-19-related state of emergency declaration in Massachusetts. These results suggest an increase in e-consult utilization associated with the COVID-19 pandemic in the USA.
