The DNA polymerase, penton base, hexon and fiber genes of the South Polar skua adenovirus (SPSAdV) exhibited 68.3%, 75.4%, 74.9% and 48.0% nucleotide sequence similarity with their counterparts in turkey hemorrhagic enteritis virus. Phylogenetic analysis based on the entire genome revealed that SPSAdV belonged to the genus Siadenovirus, family Adenoviridae. Using newly designed primers based on the obtained sequence, the full genome of the novel adenovirus (SPSAdV) was extended from the left-end inverted terminal repeat (ITR) region to the right-end ITR region. At the nucleotide level, the SPSAdV pol, penton base and hexon genes exhibited somewhat higher sequence similarity of 73.8%, 79.2% and 77.5% with RAdV-1 than with THEV (68.3%, 75.4% and 74.9%) ( Table 4 ). ./cache/cord-260108-osg8q89i.txt ./txt/cord-260108-osg8q89i.txt
