Here we address quantitatively the productivity and social interaction issue using an agent-based model to simulate a workplace scenario where the agents exhibit two social stereotypes, viz., extroverts and introverts, that differ solely on their propensities to initiate a conversation. Social distancing is modeled by controlling the number of attempts an agent makes to find a conversation partner and the motivation to work (mood) is assumed to increase with the time spent talking and decrease with the time spent alone. The time intervals where the mean cumulative productivity decreases correspond to the periods when the agent is participating in a social interaction and are associated with the increase of its motivation. ./cache/cord-130778-d6jtz3pm.txt ./txt/cord-130778-d6jtz3pm.txt
