Compassion can be defined as an embodied, integrated state with cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions that is characterized by an altruistic attitude, an emphatic concern, and a desire to alleviate suffering in oneself and in others (Khoury 2019) . Similar studies have shown positive associations between compassion to other human beings and pro-environmental tendencies, including values, intentions, and actions (Pfattheicher et al.
