DISCUSSION: This study will provide high-quality evidence to evaluate the contribution of the ABO blood group in COVID-19 pneumonia infection. A recent study in China compared COVID-19 patients with the general population found an association between the ABO blood group and SARS-CoV-2 infection status. [12] This study will systematically review the current evidence, aiming to provide clarity surrounding the role of the ABO blood type in patients with COVID-19.
