Exploring the Reliability and Validity of the TechU-Q to Evaluate Device and Purpose Specific Screen Use in Preschool Children and Parents 2020-08-05 .txt text/plain 6203 288 48 This study surveyed parents of young children (n = 96, mean child age 3.0, SD 1.0 years) from three settings (Australia, United States) to test the reliability and validity of a new tool to capture richer data on technology use within a techno-microsystem. An important step to better understand the implications of MTSD use, and thus provide evidence to inform health and education guidelines , is the development of a reliable, valid, and feasible measure to capture family screen technology use (Saunders and Vallance 2017) . For young children, parents were asked to report the amount of time using each device for each purpose: educational activities, social networking, watching videos, playing games, and other general use. The current study aimed to establish face, content and construct validity of the TechU-Q and then to use this measure to explore the device-and purpose-specific use of technology in young children and their parents. ./cache/cord-319286-xbf4zhnr.txt ./txt/cord-319286-xbf4zhnr.txt
