Considering the proven and encouraging potentials of enzyme inhibition and molecular target therapy in drug development, and in continuation of our exploits and expositions thereon [54e58], herein we present a comprehensive review of research undertakings in the present millennium (2000e2019) directed towards the development of potent inhibitors of bGLU that are either natural products or synthetic scaffolds.
