Testing, tracing and isolation in compartmental models 2020-05-19 .txt text/plain 9749 531 53 This paper presents a new method for accurately including the effects of Testing, contact-Tracing and Isolation (TTI) strategies in standard compartmental models. It provides a logical framework for understanding the propagation of an May 14, 2020 1/23 infectious disease through a population and allows different interventions to be explored, including testing and contact tracing of infected individuals as possible strategies to ease social distancing restrictions. In this paper we develop an extension to the classic Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Removed 1 (SEIR) model [16, 52, 53] simulated with ODEs to include testing, contacttracing, and isolation (TTI) strategies. To answer this we adapt the standard Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Removed (SEIR) compartmental model [16, 52] to incorporate contact tracing as well as testing and isolation of cohorts of people. Overlapping compartments represent model states that are not mutually exclusive, so that it is possible for an individual to belong in more than one of them e.g. be infected and contact-traced, or exposed and tested. ./cache/cord-322806-g01wmmbx.txt ./txt/cord-322806-g01wmmbx.txt
