Furthermore, as IL-1 was shown to be a major culprit in the development of many cardiovascular diseases [11] , its involvement in the Sars-Cov-2 infection could explain the high mortality and morbidity rate among cardiopathic patients. Identifying the mechanisms by which Sars-Cov-2 damages the human body, focusing on the structural proteins, could be a possible strategy to finding an effective solution.
