Even though the results of a recent study to establish a prediction model for the prognosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection (19) introduced C reactive protein, lactic dehydrogenase, and lymphocyte count as the most valuable laboratory parameters reflecting COVID-19 severity, articles continuously introducing novel biomarkers with the ability to predict disease outcome are published daily.
