Recent studies have also been published on the possibility to use rapid reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) assays for SARS-CoV-2 detection, but additional evidence is needed at this point in time for validating their routine usage in COVID-19 diagnostics (38, 39) .
