CONCLUSION: Sodium balance disorder, particularly hyponatremia, is a common condition among hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Hubei, China, and it is associated with a higher risk of severe illness and increased in-hospital mortality. reported hyponatremia to be much common (50%) amongst hospitalized COVID-19 patients in the United States [13] , and recently study further suggested that serum sodium concentration was inversely correlated with IL-6, and hyponatremia was associated with a more severe outcome of COVID-19 disease [14] . The associative disorders of serum sodium balance, their clinical characteristics, severity, and outcomes in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients have not been established.
