History of Stroke Is Independently Associated With In-Hospital Death in Patients With COVID-19	2020-07-31		.txt	text/plain	1602	88	47	Using our institutional data warehouse, we identified all adult patients who were admitted to the hospital between March 1, 2020 and May 1, 2020 and had a positive nasopharyngeal swab polymerase chain reaction test for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus in the emergency department. 1,2 Several recent studies have suggested that cerebrovascular disease is associated with a nonsignificant trend toward in-hospital death in patients with COVID-19, but these results have been limited by small sample sizes. In this descriptive, observational study of hospitalized patients with COVID-19, we found that history of stroke was independently associated with in-hospital death.
