In particular apart the high transmission rate, other two aspects were immediately pointed out by the physicians which did strongly influence the diffusion of the disease and the medical resources: first it was estimated that a large delay of time (10 to 14 days) is present between the moment in which a person becomes infected and can infect, and the instant in which symptoms become evident and the person is isolated and sent to quarantine.
