The GI societies have been at the forefront in providing unique and impactful educational opportunities to trainees both regarding the COVID-19 pandemic as well as general gastroenterology and endoscopy. Local and regional GI societies are similarly addressing trainee member needs by offering new fellows' series and sharing virtual educational opportunities across institutions. However, given the pandemic-associated limitation on endoscopy volume and trainee participation, this is a time for training programs to "rediscover" simulation.
