World Health Organisation (WHO) has clearly defined telemedicine, [5] whereas in India, we never had a standard guideline for teleconsultation till the Medical Council of India (MCI) brought the directive to provide healthcare using telemedicine during the COVID-19 pandemic period. With broadband services being available throughout the country, telemedicine can be easily practiced even using a patient-initiated model (through mobile applications like WhatsApp, Zoom , Google Duo. etc.) These media have the obvious advantage of the patient being familiar in using them. 1.
