During normal times, patients affected by dementia are very vulnerable people and are hugely dependent on family or professional caregivers in their everyday life. This situation can come after waiting for months for a suitable therapist for cognitive rehabilitation, for appointments with physicians, and for a place in a dementia care unit which will stimulate patients and give their families a break. During the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals with dementia living in nursing homes show several additional problems.
