Many early reports of COVID-19 in pregnancy described management by caesarean, isolation of the neonate from the mother at birth and formula feeding. Studies were eligible for inclusion if they, were case reports or case series, of pregnant women with confirmed COVID-19 infection. These studies included 666 neonates and 655 women where information was provided on the mode of delivery and the infant's infection status. It is disappointing that the details of outcome and care of so many neonatal cases born to COVID-19 positive mothers have not been fully reported. Our data suggest that COVID-19 disease should not be an indication for Caesarean birth, formula feeding or isolation of the infant from the mother.
