Farm household incomes have often included subsidies, food production, tourism or other forms of off-farm income, however, it is recognised that the natural resources of rural spaces in Wales provide opportunities for growth in sustainable energy generation. The research aims to examine farm diversification activities and farmer attitudes towards renewable energy generation in supporting agribusinesses in Wales, as such, the study uses a sequential mixed method design (Creswell and Plano Clark, 2011) of two equally-weighted independent phases to undertake an in-depth investigation into the matter.
