Low Se significantly reduced total antioxidant capability (T-AOC), glutathione (GSH) content, but malondialdehyde (MDA) content in the kidney increased and decreased glutathione peroxidase (Gpx) and thioredoxin reductase (TrxR) activity with changes in their mRNA levels. Se could protect the renal antioxidant function from oxidative damage [14] , and Se deficiency or excess causes a lot of selenoprotein resultant metabolic disorders in pig kidney [15] . ./cache/cord-005379-5x4deimg.txt ./txt/cord-005379-5x4deimg.txt
