Additionally, some of the medications that have been used for treatment of COVID-19 infection, such as Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and Azithromycin (AZN), are known to cause corrected QT (QTc) interval prolongation, therefore potentially predisposing patients to malignant ventricular arrhythmia.s 6, 7 However, there is little current data on the electrophysiologic consequences of these drugs in the setting of active COVID-19 in pediatric patients.
