Following this research gap, the research question for this study concerns how regulative, normative and cultural-cognitive institutions affect digital platform development and use for national health insurance in a developing country. To address the research question, the study employs institutional theory [9] as analytical lens and qualitative, interpretive case study [10] as methodology to gain insight into digital platform development and use for national health insurance system in Ghana, as a developing country.
