In this study we utilize data from the largest healthcare network in Rhode Island, USA, with the aim of exploring the potential association of the above-mentioned chronic diseases with severe outcomes such as ICU admission and invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) in patients hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 infection. All rights reserved Our primary outcome was to assess if specific risk factors, namely age, race, gender, BMI, diabetes, hypertension, chronic heart disease, and chronic lung disease are associated with ICUadmission within the first 10 days of hospital admission with COVID-19.
