They performed computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) asking people to evaluate AVs with regard to their potential to increase the quality of life in cities, in terms of time and financial savings, and finally, regarding the reduction of traffic jams. The first relevant survey question asked was: "How high do you assess the potential of self-driving vehicles to enhance the quality of life in cities, e.g. due to smoother traffic flow?".
