There have been other reports of cerebrovascular events among COVID patients in China [3] and another coronavirus infection that led to severe acute respiratory syndrome in Singapore [4] . Cardioembolic mechanisms may have a causative role, but intravenous immunoglobulin given for severe acute respiratory syndrome has also been implicated [4] .
