Patients evaluated at local urgent care clinics or emergency rooms with skin and soft tissue abscesses are frequently referred to NCH for admission to the inpatient infectious disease unit for antibiotic therapy and I&D of the abscess. Our project included patients between 3 months to 21 years of age who were admitted with skin and soft tissue abscesses and discharged from the infectious diseases inpatient unit following I&D performed during the hospitalization with no or minimal residual cellulitis at the time of discharge (uncomplicated abscess). ./cache/cord-012038-psqmqpff.txt ./txt/cord-012038-psqmqpff.txt
