The enterovirus genome region before the torovirus insertion (VP1-VP4, 2 A, 2B, and 2 C) showed its highest similarity on the amino-acid level (94.5%) with EVG/Porcine/USA/Texas1/ 2014 (Fig. 1C) . In addition to confirming the presence of the enterovirus-torovirus recombinant using Sanger sequencing, we used proteomics to infer whether the protein of the insertion could be found in the sample. Taking the metagenomics data, the Sanger sequence confirmation and the proteomics results all together we can conclude that this recombinant virus is present in the sample and that the inserted protein is being expressed. ./cache/cord-280564-kgoczioe.txt ./txt/cord-280564-kgoczioe.txt
