METHODS: In this study, 81 severe NCP patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Union Hospital (Wuhan, China) were enrolled. A number of studies have shown that coagulation dysfunction exists in patients with severe novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), [1] [2] [3] [4] which is clearly correlated with poor prognosis. Table 3 shows the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of different D-dimer levels in predicting VTE in patients with severe NCP.
