Incubation of the culture supernatant but not the bacterial lysates resulted in significant suppression of DENV ( Figure 1B ) and ZIKV ( Figure 1C ) infectivity in Vero cells, indicating that an extracellular effector(s) secreted by Csp_BJ was responsible for viral inhibition.
