A purposive sample of 17 hospitalized children aged between 4 and 13 years participated in drawings and face-toface interviews. Garden was easily accessed from both wards so children could engage freely in activities during the day providing they were not receiving any scheduled treatments such as chemotherapy or blood The aim of the study was to explore through draw, observation and talk hospitalized children's experience of a Fairy Garden Johnson (2005) have previously advised that in qualitative research with children as young as four years there can be discerning data.
