T itled P reserva tio n o f Scrapbooks a n d A lbum s, it is a four-page leaflet containing practical advice o n h o w to care for these very challenging m aterials. T he leaflet is in th e p u b ­ lic d o m ain an d m ay b e co p ie d freely, so librar­ ians an d archivists sh o u ld find it an in e x p e n ­ sive educational tool for patrons. SAA p lan s m a n a g e m e n t tra in in g p ro g r a m T he Society o f A m erican Archivists (SAA) has received a th ree-year g ran t from th e N ational E ndow m ent for th e H um anities to create a pres­ erv atio n m a n a g e m e n t training program . T he pro g ram will consist o f 18 days o f training di­ v id ed into th ree six-day w o rk sh o p s a n d b e of­ fered in four different regions o f th e country b e tw e e n 1992 a n d 1994. T he th ree-p art design allow s participants to com plete outside assign­ m ents a n d to integrate their ex p erien ces at the w o rk sh o p s w ith their w o rk in an archives. By th e e n d o f th e final w o rk sh o p , p articip an ts sh o u ld h av e b e g u n to d e v e lo p p reserv atio n program s an d five-year p reserv atio n plans for th eir institutions.
