Columbia’s East Asian Library is one of the largest and oldest in the nation. A major renovation of the facilities is near completion, and the library will be dedicated as the C.V. Starr East Asian Library. The collections, representing exceptional breadth and depth in the humanities and social sciences, contain over 400,000 volumes principally in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, but also in Manchu, Mongolian, and Tibetan.
