William Axford H. William Axford, university librarian at the University of Oregon, will serve as president of the Association of College and Research Li­ braries for 1974/75. As president of ACRL, Axford serves as chairman of the ACRL Execu­ tive Committee, of the ACRL Board of Direc­ tors, and of the ACRL Conference Program Planning Committee for the 1975 Annual Con­ ference in San Francisco. He also serves as a member of the Choice Editorial Board and as an ex-officio member of the ACRL Planning Committee and of all units of ACRL. In addi­ tion, he will represent ACRL and ALA to other educational and professional organizations. Axford’s previous service to ACRL and ALA includes chairmanship of the ACRL Committee on Standards and Accreditation and member­ Louise Giles ship on the College & Research Libraries Edi­ torial Board and on the ACRL University Li­ braries Section Urban Universities Library Committee. Axford has also been active in ALA’s Resources and Technical Services Divi­ sion. The newly elected vice-president and presi­ dent-elect of ACRL is Louise Giles, dean of learning resources at Macomb County Commu­ nity College, in Warren, Michigan. In the re­ cent elections, Giles received 1,881 votes. James O. Wallace, director of learning re­ sources at San Antonio College, in Texas, re­ ceived 1,452 votes.
