Every year ACRL extends recognition and ho n o r to the w inners o f its aw ards. With alm ost $30,000 donated by generous corporate sponsors annu­ ally, ACRL has and will continue to nominate, select, and honor the very best in academ ic Hbrarianship. Please consider those w ho have influenced your thinking and your growth as an academic librarian. Recognizes aca­ demic libraries that are outstanding in further­ ing the educational missions of their institu­ tions. • Academic or Research Librarian o f the Year Award (sponsored by Yankee Book Peddler): $3,000 cash award. Recognizes an out­ standing member of the academic or research library profession. • Hugh C. Atkinson Memorial Award (sp o n so red by ACRL, ALCTS, LAMA, and LITA): $2,000 cash aw ard. Recognizes o u t­ standing achievements (including risk-taking) in the areas of library autom ation, m anage­ ment, or development and research. • Marta Lange/CQ Award (sponsored by Congressional Quarterly, Inc.): $1,000 cash award. Recognizes a librarian w ho has made distin­ guished contributions to bibliography and in­ formation service in law or political science. • Miriam D udley Instruction Librar­ ian Award (sponsored by Elsevier Science, Ltd.): $1,000 cash award.
