Welcome to the October 2020 issue of 
C&RL News. We start out this month with 
the latest installment of our Internation-
al Insights column, featuring perspec-
tives on the academic library’s role in 
resisting and eradicating systemic in-
equalities to advance “Multiple ways of 
knowing.”

The COVID-19 pandemic continues 
to impact our campuses as we move 
solidly into fall term. Carissa Tomlinson 
and Danya Leebaw of the University 
of Minnesota offer “Reflections” on the 
pandemic from the perspective of middle 
management.

In this issue’s The Way I See It essay, 
Melanie Hulbert, L. Katherine Smith, and 
Dustin Fife of Western Colorado Uni-
versity write about ways they cultivated 
relationships for resilience in “Activating 
agency in the time of COVID-19.”

This month’s Scholarly Communi-

cation column features a look at “New 
dimensions in data management” by  
Jamie Wittenberg, while Lindsay Guarnieri, 
Tracey Kry, and Emily Porter-Fyke write 
about performing website usability testing 
with eye-tracking software in their ACRL 
TechConnect article “The eyes have it.”

Sara Sharun and Erika E. Smith discuss 
ways partnerships between librarians and 
educational developers can promote indi-
vidual and institutional change in their article 
“Educational development partnerships and 
practices.”
