December 2020 525 C&RL News Welcome to the December 2020 issue of C&RL News. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues into fall and winter, libraries continue to adapt their services to the current environment. B. Grantham Al- dred starts off this issue with a look at his efforts at “Asynchronizing with the Framework” to provide remote instruc- tion at the University of Illinois-Chica- go. Focusing on outreach projects that are adaptable to the pandemic, Christopher Sweet writes about library participation in Illinois Wesleyan University’s annual campus-wide intellectual theme in “Fact of fiction?” while Caitlin Harrington and Ra- chel E. Scott discuss their experiences with “Technical services librarians and outreach” at the University of Memphis. In this month’s Scholarly Communica- tion column, Sherri L. Barnes provides an overview of the “The Community-Led Open Publication Infrastructures for Monographs (COPIM) project.” Dragan Gill outlines her efforts at “Creating an asset map for student and community success” at Rhode Island College in our latest ACRL TechConnect feature. According to tradition, we also take a look back at ACRL’s accomplishments in advanc- ing learning and transforming scholarship with our 2019–2020 Annual Report. You can help make the next year of your association as successful as the last by volunteering to serve on an ACRL committee. The call for volunteers is available on page 541. Make sure to check out the other features and departments this month, including an ex- amination of how Eastern Carolina University implemented liaison competencies by Cindy Shirkey, Jeanne Hoover, and Katy Webb in their article “Doing the work.” Thanks as always for reading the News! —David Free, editor-in-chief, dfree@ala.org Make your digital library available anytime or anywhere Ebooks & audiobooks for academic libraries With 2.5 million titles from 30,000+ publishers in over 100 languages, it’s never been easier to build a custom digital collection that fits your budget and academic mission.
