No- tably, some libraries are experimenting by moving their collections budgets under their scholarly communication programs to encourage a shift toward increased openness while improving budgetary stewardship. The ACRL/SPARC Forum at the ALA Midwinter Meeting will continue this conversation by showcasing institutions who are currently use their funding in these types of strategic ways. Update on ACRL’s Value of Academic Libraries Initiative: Sunday, January 22, 1:00–2:30 p.m. Learn about continued progress on ACRL’s forthcoming “Action- Oriented Research Agenda on Library Con- tributions to Student Learning and Success.” A team from OCLC Research—which ACRL selected to design, develop, and deliver the new action-oriented agenda—has been working since August and circulated a first draft in November. Join ACRL’s Value of Academic Libraries committee chair to hear the context for this work along with OCLC Research’s project director and proj- ect team members.
