From the Editor Issues in Science and Technology Librarianship Winter 2000 DOI:10.5062/F4J67DXV From the Editor With this first issue of the new year, I'm pleased to welcome a new member of the editorial board. David Flaxbart, Chemistry Librarian at the University of Texas, Austin, will lend his expertise to this journal. This is also a good time to take stock of where things stand with ISTL. In 1999 we had over 30,000 visits to the ISTL home page. That seems a respectable number for a specialized journal. Our most popular articles of the past year dealt mostly with technology-related issues. The top ten list includes: Chemistry Resources on the Internet (Winter 1998) Electronic Journals as a Component of the Digital Library (Spring 1999) Ruminations on the Sci-Tech Serials Crisis (Fall 1998) Guide to Computer Science Internet Sources (Summer 1997) You Can't Get There from Here: Issues in Remote Access to Electronic Journals for a Health Sciences Library (Spring 1999) Electronic Publishing of Scholarly Journals: A Bibliographic Essay of Current Issues (Spring 1999) Scientific Literacy Skills for Non-Science Librarians: Bootstrap Training (Fall 1999) Science in the Twilight Zone; Or, Are Science Libraries Related to Science (Fall 1998) Library Staffing Considerations in the Age of Technology: Basic Elements for Managing Change (Fall 1999) Learning Our Limits: The Science Libraries at Duke University Retreat to Respond to Our Changing Environment (Fall 1999) Our mailing list currently has over 2,400 names with subscribers from all around the world.
