BOOK OF LITANIES 19 Three Acts of Thanksgiving to Jesus on the Cross 0 most meek and gentle Lamb of God, Who during three long hours didst hang so piteously upon the Cross. O most innocent Lamb of God, with the gratitude of every creature of Thy hands, I give Thee thanks for the burn- ing thirst Thou didst suffer for the sal- vation of the world, when with plaintive voice Thou didst exclaim: I thirst, and still nothing was given Thee to drink but vinegar and gall.
