Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C., president emeritus of the University of Notre Dame, will give a lecture on “Notre Dame: Our Lady” 7 p.m. Tuesday (Jan.20) in the Hesburgh Library’s Carey Auditorium.p. Father Hesburgh served as Notre Dame’s president from 1953 to 1987. His 35-year tenure included the transfer of governance from the founding religious community, the Congregation of Holy Cross, to a predominantly lay board of trustees in 1967, and the admission of women to the undergraduate program in 1972.p. The lecture is sponsored by Notre Dame’s Campus Ministry office as one of the Blessed Mother Lecture Series.
