Verity beginneth, BRother knowledge canst thou tell me what news is now abroad among the people concerning gods word. knowledge brother verity I here no news but that it shall flourish according to gods will for eany thing that I camneperceyve. Verity. But as I understand brother knowledge there is many people offended with it that it should be so. knouledg. All though they he offended brother verity yet it is but a folly to spurn against the prick. Verity. verily that is true for that that the heavenly father hath not planted, shallbe plucket up by the roots & cast into hell fire yet they have no grace but repine at that thing that will not be. know What remedy brother verity seeing they willbe obstackle against the truth. Verity. Yes brother knowledge there is remedy it is your part to preach unto them the verity with a meek sprite & if eany man be over taken of afaute, as saint paul saith in the vi to the galatheans you which are spryttuall inform him with a meek sprit, & consider thine own self. That thou be not tempted so well as he. know. brother verity I have preached unto them the true word of god, as the lord hath taught it me, & I have traveled from country to country with much pains & persecution for Christ's name sake & I have also declared their abomination & filthy doctrine unto them desiring them gently to leave it, & cleave unto the verity and I hath also prayed unto the lord to open there blind hearts, that the true knowledge of thirst might enter in, upon the which brother verity I thank my lord god, whom I hath served from my youth there hath been some that hath forsake their abomination & hath received the verity of christ wise there hath been other that hath been styphenecked wythestonding the verity with persecution & murder, oh brother v●rite the lord is mi judge, I hath pached on to them the sweat promise & lively doctrine of jesus christ with as gentle a sprit as heart may think declaring unto them, their abomination & filthy doctrine, yet will they be styfenecked pharisees still, but now I thank my lord god the searcher of all secretis, that it hath pleased him to Inflame our noble king with his h●ly spirit by the which he hath contrary to their minds plucked down the greatest part of there abominable Idolatri intending no less by gods grace, then for to coat it up all by the hard roots how be it brother verity I will show you that theridamas is one abhominacio that sitteth sore in men's conscience that we must see a remedy for for the Gospel's sake, which is the mother of all mischief▪ & the abomination of desolation. Verity, why brother knowledge what is her name can you tell. knouledg. yes truly her name ●s as I understand mother mess a woman that hath brought the people in to a devely she trade. Verity. where in & in what trade hath she brought them, I pray you tell me knov. truly she hath brought them in such a trade that she hath set herself in the sear where the living god of heaven should sit, moreover brother verity she vaunce her self to be a god of gods ye an more than a god, for where as God is the omnipotent father of heaven and the everlasting God without beginning and without ending the creator of heaven and earth & all other things whereby he can not create himself, yet will this blasphemous monster make the people believe that she can create & make god, where as god can not make himself for he hath neither beginning nor ending. Also brother verity she saith she can deliver the silly souls that hath been long piteously punished in the pains of purgatori from their pains & torments, moreover she saith she can make fair wether & rain & heal all sickness, & bring dampened soles out of hell, also she saith she can purchase remission of sins by the offering up again of Christ's body and blood & can with five words make both god and man whereby she would make God partial a liar & no god which is plain heresy treason & traitorly spoken for by her saying god can be no god without her help whereby she would take the crown and honour from god and set it upon herself and furthermore she teacheth the people with her filthy doctrine & subtle conveyance making them believe, the exccepte they do hear & see her play in her juggling garments and that in the morning everidai they should not prosper nor go forward in their business where about they go, also where as I with the doctrine of jesus Chryst had brought a few to the true knowledge. she hath with her filthy traditions and wicked laws compelled them with persecution and cruelty, to fall from the verity, & to cleave unto her filthy doctrine, & if there were eany that would not deny jesus christ but stick to his houlsom doctrine they should straight ways with cruel persecution suffer death, wherefore it is time she where rotted out from the christyance and & rested of treason, theft and murder, as she hath deserved no less Verity, well brother knowledge seeing it is as you have spoken I would desire you to go to my brother wisdom the Sergeant desiring him earnestly to make a narrow search for her, & tach her of treason theft and murder. knov brother verity it shall not need for he cometh yonder my think. verity. truly he doth indeed knouv. what brother wisdom aworde with you I pray. wisd. sir what is your pleasure that you will have with me know brother wisdom my brother verity & I doth straightly command you, to tach mother mess of treason theft & murder, & lay her fast in newgat that she may be forth coming at all times. vuisd .. sir it shallbe done by the grace of god with all mi heart with as much speed as I may. Messe. Where in have I committed this open treason theft and murder that you lai unto my charge. I am she that hath been of a long continuance, instituted & made by christ and his apostles & aprovid by divers, holy doctors & for the space of this, vi C. years I have been taken & hallowed among the cheafest as a woman most necessary for the people's salvation and seeing that I am spiritual and Allowed by so many holy fathers ordained by the holy scriptures and approved by divers holy doctors, my think my lord you should not allow the accusations of these two men but punish them the other meughte take an ensample thereby. know. my lord if it please you to hear my brother verity & I we will prove that thing true that we have laid unto her charge for where as I said that she is a traitor it is true my lord by her own words, for where as paul saith in the ten to the Hebrews that we are sanctified by the offering up of the body of jesus Christ once for all, yet this blasphemous monster is readi daily with her priests ministering and oft times offereth one manner of offerings which can never take away sins but this man jesus Christ the son of god when he had offered for sins. one sacrifice which is of value for ever sat him down on the right hand of God and from henceforth tarteth till his foes be made his footstool for with one offering hath he made perfect for ever them that are sanctified, & thus we he taught in saint Paul's doctrine therefore it is not for us nor no other creature to believe this wicked woman's doctrine for she saith that she can offer up the body of Christ every day to take away sin which is blaspheme and treason for saint-Paule saith in the vii to the Hebrews that he did that once for all when he offerred up himself wherbi by her doctrine she doth crucify Christ every day anew which is to be known & thought that she is a utter enime to god & his word ye & amore worse traitor than whas judas which betrayed christ, for judas when he had once betrayed him & delivered him in to the hands of his enymis, straightway he knew he had done wickedly & through despair he whente & hanged himself, but this traiterly woman is not content with crucifying him once or twice a day, or one day, but she will crucify him v C. times everidai in the year & think it all to little & not only that but she causeth the people to believe with cruel persecution that it is necessary for man's salvation & thus I prove her no less then a tretor, with doth crucify christ a new also athef which robith god of his honour, & as for murdering she doth not only slay them with her damnable doctrine to go from the truth of our salvation unto her false doctrine to our condemnation but also all them that would not believe it to be true and stick to their opinion with cruel persecution suffered death, As Richard Hun, Roberte King, johan Debinham, Nycolas Marsh, Thomas Sax●e: Thomas Hitton Thomas Bylney Richard Bifelde with Teukesbery & colyns. william Leton george bainham John frith John Lambert Wulian Tindale, Robert Barnes with Gerard & Hieron. & v C more that she hath shed of innocent blood & by this I prove her a traitor: a thief & a murderer & I am sure your lordship will not say nay unto it. jug no truly that I will not if it be so: how sayst thou woman is it so speed, Mess. my lord if it please your lordship in deed I offer a sacrifice for the sins of the people & for all sickness diseses & evil chances and for fair wether & rain which is christes body & blood but they can not prove by thee, that I am neither traitor, thief nor murderer for the scriptures bear me in that that I do. Knou, Why Esai the prophet in his first chapter saith that the lord doth abore your Sacrifice even at his very heart and will you compel him to take it whether he will ye or no, and if he had delighted in sacrifices as David sayeth in his myserere I would have given it the Lord but thou delightest not in none sacrifice lord here David declareth how he hath no pleasure in them which is sufficient enough to prove you false in that point, and where as you say that the scriptures bear you in it. I pray you in what place of scriptures do you bear yourself I could never read that there was any mess in Christ nor his Apostles time. Messe No what though the name be not mentioned in the Scriptures yet the thing itself is mentioned there for in me is Christ himself in the form of bread and wine made by such words as is taken out of the scriptures which christ left for us, as in Mat xxvi Mar, xiiii. & Lu. xxii & also as paul declareth in the i epistle to the Cor xi chap wherein he saith that the lord jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bred and thanked and broke & said take ye & eat ye this is mi body which is broken for you now then if Christ doth say, this is my body will you sai it is not his body. Verity. no verily that I will not: but yet my lord shall rightly know both thou and thy doctrine to be false superstition, for where as thou sayst that christ is in the In the form of bread & wine after the words spoken taken out of, scripture which is as much to sai hoc est corpus meum this is my body truth it is the christ said this is my body but first you shall know the when christ sat among the twelve Apostles having the body that the virgin mary bare & that same body that the virgin marry bare, took the bread in his hand gave thanks broke it & gave it to his disciples now you shall know that the scripture saith that jesus christ became in all points like unto man saving sin, now I ricken that one man's body can be but in one place at one time, how think you mother messe Mess. I marry that is true a man's body can be but In one place at one time in deed verity. Well then when the Descyples had received the bread of the body that the Vyrgynne mary bare, where was that body then, had they Eat it up, or was it still present before them, Messe No they had not eat it up but it was still present before them. Veriti. Well then That same body after it had Suffered death and rose again it ascended up to heaven and let him down on the right hand of his father & there tarrieth till his foes, be made his foot stole, now that body is in heaven you will grant me this. Messe. I verily that is true. veryt. How chanse it then that you will make the People believe that the Substance of bred and wine is turned from his kind unto the very Body of christ that the virgin mary hate after these words spoken, this is my body, not that only but you make thereof a sacrifice for the remission of sin both for qwick & dead which is great blaspheme to the blood of christ & they that would not so believe should suffer most cruel pain & death, where by ye have crucified christ anew in his membres being no less than amourderer & a there that robbeth god of his honour. Messe. why sir god is omnipotent. verity I verily that is truth, Mess why then he may do all things & seeing he is almighty speaking these words hoc est cor pusmeum, this is my body why should you then be repugnant against the truth, and say that it is not his Body, where as he saith himself that it is his body, and this I am sure of my Lord that all them that lovithe me and he that is in me, which is god himself, as I know there is a great meinie doth, they will say no lease but that I am ordained of God and that in seeing me, they see god himself which mad them & died upon the cross for them all, and if they receive me, they receive their maker the body of christ flesh blood and bone as it hanged on the cross, and thus all them that faverithe & lovithe me wilbeleve no less, jug why I perceive now thou hast spoken against god & his word heresy and blaspheme. Knovulege. I truly my lord she word make the word of god of non effect for by her saying god dwelleth in temples made wtston. yea & she teacheth the people to believe no less than lo Messe why my lord seeing that I am made by god & his apostles ordained to be man's salvation I think there is no man that loveth me but will say that where as I am there is god for the scriptures prophesied that messyas should come which should save the people & I am she, & my abiding is in Temples of stone which is god's temple so well as mine, for look where as I am there is he. knou Why the woman of samaria prophesied messias to be a he & not a shewher as she said, I wotwell messias shall come which is called christ when he is come, he shall tell us altogether here she calleth him a he & not a she messias & where as you say that god dwelleth in temples made of stone you shall know yᵉ. s. steven saith that god dwelleth not in temples made with hands also, s. paul saith no less to the xvii. of the acts the god which made the world and all that are in it dwelleth not in temples made with hand neither is worshipped with men's hands as salomon saith in the third book of the kings the vi, chapter that he builded him a house. howbeit he that is highest dwelleth not in the temples made with hands as saith the Prophet Isaiah. Heaven is my seat and the earth is my footstool what house will ye build for me saith the Lord or what place is it that I should rest in hath not my hands made all these things? now this blasphemous woman doth cause the people to believe that he dwelleth in temples made with hands causing the people to take her false gods for the lining god where as these honest men doth witness the contrary which is sufficient inogh I trust my lord to prove her false in that point & whereas she saith my lord that he that receiveth her after the consecration meaning the bread and wine two false gods receiveth the body of Christ flesh blood & bone, but after such a fashion took the jews the word of God in the. vi, of johan when he said the bread that I will give is my flesh which I will give for the life of the world now the jews took it grossly and strove among themselves saying how can this fellow give his flesh to eat, as doth this woman these words of christ, this is my body, taken the bare letter nothing considering the closing up there of where as he saith so often as you shall eat this breo & drink of this cup it shall show the lords death till he come & if he be there as this woman saith as I know he is not, let this nam sacrament be clean abolished for he maketh it but asynification of the death of christ & not christ himself but rather you must prove the Scriptures false which calleth it a sacrament or else prove yourself to be the Antichrist that Christ bid us beware of which should exalt himself in the seat where the living god should sit, which is in man's conscience & these to be two false gods which you sai is the living god, & if the scriptures be true you be atraitor a these & a murderer, & if they be not true a prove them yourself. Messe. sir I can not deny but that the scriptures be true. judge. than thou condemnyst thyself a knowledging by thine own words to be guilty in that these two honest men dolay to thy charge. Peter. my Lord if it please you the accussations of thes two men is true, & she is guilty in the thing that they lay unto her charge, wherefore my lord it shall not need to panyell a queaste of her, for she hath condemned herself, by her own words, & all we twelve breathern will grant there unto no less. judge. Why what think ye is she guilty or unguilty. Peter. guilty my lord, & if it please your lordship or any other man, to look in the vi of baruc the prophet you should know weather she or that, that is ī●●rbe a god ye or no, judge. well woman by the word of god thou art condemned unto death for treason theft and murder, and seeing thou art so thou shalt die the death Stifnec my lord my brother covetous. and I would desire your lordship that you would be so good as to let her go unto the place from whence she came first. judge. no that she shall not for it way chance that she may do moche harm in the weigh as she gotthe, Stifnec my lord if it please you to set two honest men to over see her my brother covets and I willbe glad to bear there costs what so ever it be. judge. Well at your desire she shall go, but ye shallbe bound unto me that you shall see her convied over Stifnec. my Lord that we will with all our hearts, but we would desire your lordship that you would be so good lord as to let her contynu till the parliament be paste, and then will we see thy your commandment fulfilled. jug, well I am content that she shall abide with you till the perlement bedone, then vendicta dei and final dessperation shall have the over seeing of her to see her convied to her father the pope again, and for thy part vendicta dei, se thou that she travelith with much pain and persecution & let not my wrath never departed from her but hang thou still over her head for ever & let her never have no prosperity but all ways in sorrow & care, and see that she creepeth not into no man's house in eany wise as I know she will, if thou take not good head therefore wait narrowly upon her and specially a bowghte Powlles a 'mong her friends there, and Ludgate and sayncte pulckers, and see that she carrieth with her, her two brother superstition and Idolatry, and for thy part final desperation, so that she be brought to her journeys end with ought Soker or comfort and that she never return again wiles the world endureth but always to abide In uncomfortable pain as a thing desperate of all comfort never to obtain mercy. final, My lord vendicta dei and I shall see this your commandment fulfilled unto the uttermost. judge. I pray you heartily do so & take her with you. NOw gentle audience where as I have with just cause condemned this monster by god's word perceiving no less than that she is the abhommination of desolation and the great babilon the mother of whoredom, and hath set herself in the seat where god should sit as saint john saith in his revelation the xvii. chapter the waters saith the Angel unto saint john which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth are people and folk & nations & though and in that seat should the living god sit, which is in men's conscience and I perseive that she hath taken the honour unto herself, which should be due only unto the lord I can do no less of conscience but: judge her a thief which robithe god of his honour not only this could satisfy her wicked desire, but she hath caussed the people with her doctrine to believe that she was the living god, and a mediator betwixt the rather of heaven and them to pacify his wrath, where as sayncte paul saith in the ix, to the hebrews that it is christ that pacifieth his father's wrath and not that he is entered in to holy places that are made with hands which are but similitudes of true things but he is entered into very heaven for to apere now in the sight of god for us not so offer himself often as this woman doth, making the people to believe that she offerith him up every day a sacrifis for the quick and the dead to take away sin where as saint paul saith in the seven. To the hebrews that he did that once for all when he offered up himself, and in the ix chapter following saith saint Paul with aught shedding of blood there is no remission of sin by the which by her doctrine, she crucifieth christ every day a new, and not only in her doctrine but also she ꝑsecuteth him a fresh in his faithful members if they would not believe her false doctrine, & take her to be their god by the which she is a traitor & murderer & that thing that is left unto us for a memorial of the death of christ and a worthy sacrament of the body and blood of jesus Christ she saith it is god him self the bread and wine I mean two false goods causing the people to do homage & worship unto them, where as christ bade them eat it and drink it, and not to worship it to make there of a god. I could bring In divers points of Scripture to prove them false gods and plain idolatry to worship them, but I differre it unto the neaxt time, desiring all christian men to beware of this wicked spirit for she is the rose coloread whore that saint john spoke of In his revylations the xvii. chap which is full of blaspheme, that the kings & in habiters of the earth have drunk of the wine of her fornication but fear not saith saint john in his two, Chapter for ye shall have tribulation and this wicked spirit the devil shall cast you in to prison but be faithful saith christ unto the death and I will give you a crown of everlasting life which life shall endure for ever be fervent therefore my brethren and repent saith saint johan in the third of his revelation be hold saith Christ I stand at the door and knocked if any man hear my voice and open the door. I will come in unto him and will sup with him and he with me and seeing he hath like a merciful father promised us this merciful promise, let us therefore repent and be fervent to open the door our hearts I mean which is locked up in unbelief that he may enter in and there is no doubt then but that he will sup with us and we with him unto the which supper I beseech the lord bring us all unto, Amen.
