¶ The Proclamation of the crying down of the new Plakkis and Hardheidis. THE REGENTIS GRACE., and Estaitis assembled at this present Convention, havand consideration of the great Inconuenientis that now procedis amangis our sovereign Lordis liegis, in default of victuallis and all other Merchandise and gudis that is put to dearth, and raisit and put to exorbitant prices, and haldin and abstractit fra Mercattis throw occasion of great quantity of false counterfeit money, Plakkis and Lyonis otherwise callit Hardheidis, strikin in cuinye in the time of the government of the queen drowarier and Regent our sovereign Lordis guddam of good Memory, as also be falls Cuinyeouris,, not allanerlie within this Realm but als outwith the same, sa subtly and in sic form of metal, that it is very hard to the Ignorantis to discern and knaw the true fra the falls. ¶ THAIRFOIR the Regentis grace with the mature advise and deliberation of the Estaittis' presently convenit, for the weal of our sovereign Lordis liegis, eschewing of dearth and money utheris Inconuenientis, hes ordanit and ordanis all the saidis new Plakkis last cuinyeit to have course and passage amangis all our sovereign Lordis liegis in time coming after this present proclamation for twa Penneis the piece. And all the saidis Lyonis otherwise callit Hardheidis for a Penny the piece. And that nane of our sovereign Lordis liegis shall be haldin to receive the saidis Plakkis or Hardheidis after this present Proclamation of any derrar avail and price than is before specifeit. Attour, because it is weill knawin that the greatest part of the saidis Plakkis & Hardheidis now passing in this Realm are and hes been adulterate, false and counterfeit aswell in this Realm as without, quhilkis being the chief occasion of derth●, are be Act of Parliament maid of befoir, ordanit to be clippit. ¶ THAIRFOIR ordanis and commandis all personis havaris of the saidis new Plakkis and Hardheidis in their handis, to bring or sand the same to our sourane Lordis Cuinyehous,, to John Carmichaell Warden thereof, to be seen and considerit be him, james Grace sinkar, John heart and Nicholl Sym appointit visitouris thereof, or any one of thame with the said Io●●e Carmichaell betuix the dait hereof and the twenty day of November nixttocum, to the effe●● 〈◊〉 sic as they found false and counterfeit, may be instantly clippit down and put 〈◊〉 clois 〈…〉 Coffer upon count and Inuentar of the quantity ressavit fra every person. 〈◊〉 of th● 〈◊〉 money as beiss found of the lawful and true Cuinye of this Realm to be th●● market be the said james Grace and deliverit again to the Awner, quhilkis Plakkis and Hardheidis sa market, shall have course and passage thereafter for the avail and prices above writtin, but any stop or contradiction. With certificatioun that sic of the new Plakkis and Hardheidis as shall not be visit and in this sort market betuix and the said day sall na wise have course or passage thereafter amangis our sovereign Lordis liegis. Bot the personis quhatsumever with quhome they shall be fund thereafter unmarkit, shall be persewit and punischit as wilful outputtaris and changearis of falls and corrupted Money, according to the Lawis of this Realm.
